Aeson Power Highlights 6C Sodium-Ion Solutions for the Growing AIDC Market at Data Centre World Asia 2026 - Aeson Power

Aeson Power showcased its latest sodium-ion battery technologies and application solutions at Data Centre World Asia 2026, with a focus on the growing power demands of AI data centres (AIDC) and other critical infrastructure.

Unlike conventional data centre applications that primarily require large amounts of stored energy, AIDC environments are increasingly defined by rapid and dynamic power demand. GPU clusters can generate fast load fluctuations and high-power pulses, placing greater emphasis on high-rate discharge, frequent charge/discharge cycles and rapid power response. At the same time, data centres have extremely low tolerance for fire, thermal propagation and power-system failure.

These requirements closely align with several key characteristics of sodium-ion technology, including high-rate performance, low heat generation, wide operating temperature capability and high safety characteristics.

At the exhibition, Aeson Power presented its 6C high-rate sodium-ion solution for AIDC and data centre applications, designed to support high-power, fast-response backup scenarios. The solution demonstrates the company's approach to developing battery technologies around the specific power characteristics of next-generation AI infrastructure.

“We see strong potential for sodium-ion technology in the rapidly developing AIDC market. The high-power, fast-response and safety requirements of AI data centres are highly compatible with the characteristics of sodium-ion batteries,” said Shirley Zhang, CEO of Aeson Power. “We are optimistic about the role sodium-ion technology can play in the future data centre power ecosystem and are continuing to develop solutions tailored to these emerging requirements.”

Beyond AIDC applications, Aeson Power also presented sodium-ion solutions for traditional UPS applications, including a solution designed as a potential high-rate replacement for conventional 12V 100Ah lead-acid batteries. The company also showcased the APSI2500, designed for telecommunications and UPS backup power, providing a sodium-ion option for critical backup applications.

The exhibition also highlighted Aeson Power's experience in elevator backup power applications. Through real-world project cases, the company demonstrated how sodium-ion battery technology can be applied to elevator emergency power systems, where rapid response, reliable backup and repeated high-power operation are important to maintaining essential elevator functions during power interruptions. Such scenarios further demonstrate the suitability of Aeson Power's sodium-ion technology for high-rate, safety-critical applications — and highlight its clear advantages over lithium-ion and lead-acid alternatives in terms of safety, high-rate discharge capability and performance stability.

From AI data centres and UPS to telecommunications and elevator backup power, Aeson Power is expanding the application of sodium-ion technology across a range of high-reliability power scenarios. Through high-rate battery technology and application-specific solutions, the company aims to support the evolving requirements of critical power infrastructure.
